HOW ABOUT THOSE FRENCH IMPRESSIONISTS

How about those French impressionist painters. They radically changed the art world in the late 1800s with their thin brushstroke’s differential perspectives on everyday life and nature. They painted in impressions, not concerned with sharp lines and angles. Notable impressionists include Monet, Manet, Vermeer, Renoir, and Degas.

Today their paintings are sold in the millions, while in their day that was not the case.

They would all be amazed at the prices that their works are going for today. Renoirs Au Moulin de la Galette sold for $78.1 million.

Claude Monets Le Bassin aux Nymphae’s sold for $70.35 million.

It makes me wonder what might be on the market today for pennies that in the future would be valued much more highly.

Eighty years from now could the Elvis on velvet paintings that now are seen as kitsch bring millions?

Two hundred years from now could common items like pots, utensils, shoes, automobiles, computers, eyeglasses, and houses be seen as ancient artifacts that had long since been replaced through advanced technology?
